Kuanteng debuts at WHXLagos 2026, with "Sun Ce" helping restart CT diagnostic services at the Federal Medical Center in Nigeria
On June 5, the three-day Nigeria International Medical Equipment Exhibition (WHX Lagos 2026) concluded successfully in Lagos. As one of the most influential medical industry events in West Africa, this year’s exhibition brought together medical device manufacturers, healthcare institutions, and industry experts from around the globe.

During the event, Kunteng Medical showcased its core imaging solutions, engaging in in-depth discussions with medical professionals from Nigeria and other West African countries to explore locally tailored pathways for medical imaging development, laying a solid foundation for further expansion into the African market.

The strong attention at the exhibition reflects Kunteng's deepening presence in West Africa. Previously, Kunteng Medical’s 64-slice 128-layer CT scanner—“Sun Ce”—was officially installed at the Federal Medical Centre in Nigeria and has since been fully integrated into daily clinical operations. This marks not only a significant milestone in Kunteng’s footprint in Africa but also injects new momentum into enhancing local healthcare capabilities.

As a key public medical institution in the region, the Federal Medical Centre in Delta State bears the heavy responsibility of treating a large patient population. Due to aging and decommissioned equipment, CT services had been suspended for years, leaving patients frequently forced to seek treatment elsewhere or face delayed care. The arrival of “Sun Ce” has restored the hospital’s capacity for advanced imaging diagnostics, effectively alleviating the long-standing challenges of difficult access to scans and distant diagnosis.

As Kunteng Medical’s flagship product, “Sun Ce” combines high-efficiency scanning, superior image quality, and reliable performance, meeting diverse clinical needs across emergency, neurology, thoracic, and abdominal applications, providing doctors with dependable diagnostic support. Throughout project implementation, the Kunteng team worked closely with the hospital to complete installation, commissioning, and training, ensuring smooth operation and maximum clinical value.

From exhibition promotion to equipment deployment, Kunteng Medical is establishing a closed-loop model—exhibiting, installing, and then exhibiting again—to firmly embed China’s high-end imaging technology across Africa. The restart of a single CT scanner means countless Nigerians no longer need to travel far for a simple scan; the revival of a hospital’s radiology department stands as a tangible testament to the global reach of Chinese high-end medical equipment.
Looking ahead, Kunteng Medical will continue leveraging robust products and sustained local service to help more countries along the Belt and Road Initiative improve healthcare accessibility, ensuring reliable and precise imaging diagnostics reach every person in need.
